Partnering for Innovation

I don’t know about you, but I find the concept of innovation can be somewhat elusive. Most of us likely embrace innovation at a big-picture, strategic level. Especially those of us who work in management - that we always need to be thinking about new ways we can be moving our respective businesses forward and staying ahead of the proverbial curve. The challenge remains how to put innovation into practice – make the intangible tangible in a way that benefits our customers, stakeholders, and the industry at large.

At ONCE Animal Lighting by Signify, we’re fortunate to have partners who help make innovation actionable, saving our customers money while improving their overall experience in the process. Here’s a look:
 
The partner:
Aura Agrotek, a distributor of ONCE products and farm and monitoring equipment in Latin America.
 
The need:
Determine a way for Aura’s customers – broiler integrators and broiler grow farms, to customize lighting schedules, even in the absence of a central farm computer.
 
The innovation:
Working together, Aura and ONCE developed a new control system that interfaces with our Interact Agriculture lighting control platform for our flagship NatureDynamics product line. The system allows user-level access and logging so farm managers can better manage their operations, functioning as both a farm computer and lighting controller.
 
The results: more than 75% cost savings!
The new system ensures that Aura’s customers can customize lighting schedules without purchasing multiple pieces of equipment, resulting in a cost savings of more than 75%.
