11 November 2024, Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) is proud to announce that its Interact cloud-based wireless lighting system has been awarded the DEKRA IEC 62443-3-3 security certification. This certification is a powerful endorsement of the Interact system’s commitment to privacy and cybersecurity, demonstrating resilience against the increasing landscape of information security threats. This certification represents the latest step in Signify’s ongoing commitment to cybersecurity assurance, following their earlier achievement in certifying their development lifecycle process to IEC 62443-4-1, an international standard for securing industrial control systems and operational technology.
This new certification provides additional assurance to Signify’s customers, joining Interact’s existing ISO 27001 certification—a globally recognized standard for information security.
These credentials are integral to safeguarding the Interact system’s extensive network of wireless connected luminaires and devices, all centrally managed and controlled through Interact building manager, a cloud-based software suite designed to streamline management, monitoring, and maintenance of lighting systems. With Interact building manager, organizations can experience enhanced workplace environments, increased operational efficiency, and substantial energy savings.
A Commitment to Cybersecurity Excellence
Greg Nelson, Executive Vice President of Systems & Services at Signify, stated, “In today's interconnected digital world, it is critical that all companies build trust with partners and customers. Attaining this DEKRA certification demonstrates our commitment to the highest level of cybersecurity within our automation and control systems.
“Third-party validation that we meet established security standards for confidentiality, integrity, and the availability of our systems is hugely important. Not only does this accreditation demonstrate our compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, but it also reinforces our continued focus and leadership in cybersecurity excellence.”
About IEC 62443-3-3 Certification: A Seven-Pillar Approach
The IEC-62443-3-3 standard focuses on the security of Industrial Automated Control Systems (IACS) and is based on seven key security pillars. Each pillar represents a core component of a robust, cyber-resilient framework:
Industry Recognition of Excellence
According to Bram Holtus, CEO of DEKRA Certification B.V., “IEC certification is a mark of excellence in a digital landscape where safety and cybersecurity are of fundamental importance. We were proud to certify Signify’s development lifecycle process against IEC 62443-4-1 as early as 2020, adding a DEKRA Seal that demonstrates Signify undergoes annual audits by DEKRA for continuous compliance. That the Interact system now holds the DEKRA IEC 62443-3-3 certificate is a true achievement, positioning Signify among the first to meet this rigorous standard.”
With DEKRA IEC 62443-3-3 certification, Signify reaffirms its industry leadership in cybersecurity. The recognition highlights Signify’s dedication to advancing safe, secure, and sustainable connected lighting solutions, ensuring its customers can operate with confidence in the face of ever-evolving cybersecurity challenges.
